Staff Bio

Perry Cohen (he/him/his) is the Founder and Board Chair of Transhealth. He brings a wealth of experience from his many years of work in the for-profit, nonprofit, and philanthropic sectors.  

Perry is the Founder and Executive Director of The Venture Out Project, whose mission is to create a fun and safe space for LGBTQ+ people to experience outdoor adventure. In support of Venture Out’s mission to make the outdoor community more affirming of trans and gender-diverse folks, Venture Out provides comprehensive and progressive workshops around gender diversity.  

Prior to founding Venture Out, Perry was on the executive leadership team at C&S Wholesale Grocers, the largest food grocery distributor in the U.S. He served as Regional Vice President of Operations and Head of Leadership Development and Talent Management. Perry currently serves as a member of the C&S Board of Advisors.  

Perry has led his family’s foundation to provide philanthropic support for transgender health providing grants to Transhealth, Harvard Medical School, The Fenway Institute and more. Perry is a member of the National Board of the Smithsonian Institute, an advisory Board Member of High 5 Adventure Learning and past Board Member of Darrow School and the Greenfield Center School.

Perry holds a B.A. and M.Ed. from the University of Pennsylvania and lives in Western MA. In his free time, Perry is part owner of a small ski hill in New Hampshire and can be found skiing, hiking, trail running, surfing, and hanging out with his teenage twins.
