Peter Straley (He/Him/His) brings to the Transhealth Board of Directors extensive expertise and experience in the healthcare industry and an unyielding commitment to the trans and gender-diverse community.

For almost two decades, Peter served as President and CEO of Health New England (HNE) before retiring in 2014. Prior to this, he was the CEO of Baycare Health Partners – a Provider Hospital Organization (PHO) serving the Pioneer Valley. He is the recipient of several awards and has served on many boards and committees throughout his career, including as chair of the Health Plan Alliance and Economic Development Council of Western Massachusetts, and as a board member for the Massachusetts Association of Health Plans and Pioneer Valley United Way.

Peter graduated from Middlebury College with a Bachelor of Arts in geology before starting his career in the healthcare industry. He then went on to earn his MBA from the UMass Amherst Isenberg School of Management. Peter currently serves on the board of directors of Fallon Community Health Plan.

Most importantly, Peter is a husband and father of four sons, one of whom is transgender. His son, as well as other trans and gender-diverse people in his life, have inspired his passion and commitment to supporting our community and ensuring compassionate, gender-affirming care for all.
