Dallas Ducar is the founding CEO of Transhealth. In this role, Dallas brings experience constructing clinical, research, and education services in community-based, gender-affirming, healthcare systems. She combines this leadership experience with frontline clinical experience in emergency, inpatient, and outpatient care. Prior to assuming the CEO position, Dallas served as the Clinical Lead for Mental Health Services at the Massachusetts General Hospital Transgender Health Program, where she worked with an interdisciplinary team to provide novel gender-affirming care. Dallas worked to develop pathways for all patients to receive psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, and surgical assessments for life-saving interventions.
Dallas is on faculty at Columbia University, Northeastern University, University of Virginia School of Medicine, University of Virginia School of Nursing, and the MGH Institute for Health Professions. Dallas currently serves on the Board of Directors for GLBTQ Legal Advocates and Defenders (GLAD), Healing Our Community Collaborative (HOCC), and the University of Virginia Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access (IDEA) Fund. As a public servant, she serves on the Northampton Board of Health. She also serves as the Co-Chair of the Primary Care Alliance, is on the LGBTQI Federal Policy Roundtable, and advocates for gender-affirming care nationally. She has advised international research groups on best practices and has carried out community-based participatory action research programs dedicated to empowering gender-diverse voices in a community setting. She has been the primary investigator on multiple research grants dedicated to improving the quality of care for gender-diverse individuals.
Dallas seeks to revolutionize healthcare, building novel systems to provide holistic, empowering, gender-affirming care. She continually works to create a more celebratory and open-hearted queer-friendly healthcare environment. Dallas lives in Western Massachusetts and remains fiercely dedicated to her community while fostering inclusivity. Dallas holds a BA in philosophy and cognitive science, an MSN in clinical nurse leadership, and is a board-certified registered nurse and psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. Dallas finds meaning and passion in her life by spending time hiking with her coydog, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with her loving family and friends.
