It’s Transgender Day of Visibility, and here’s the thing: Trans and gender-diverse communities have always been here, visible, proud, and active, even and especially in systems which are dominated by forces seeking our destruction.
So, Transhealth is choosing to celebrate trans existence, resistance, and persistence today, tomorrow, forever. We will honor trans beauty, joy, and authenticity every day, while acknowledging the reality of state-sanctioned discrimination and violence experienced by our communities, and committing ourselves to the work necessary to safeguard an equitable, accessible, and just world for trans and gender-diverse people.
In a political landscape which wrongly and cruelly seeks to frame gender-affirming care as dangerous and unnecessary, despite the OVERWHELMING scientific, historical, social, and logical evidence to the contrary, we wanted to uplift testimonials today from some of our patients and their families about the power and importance of trans healthcare. We are grateful to Transhealth patients and their families for sharing such powerful testimony with us!
We invite you to read these lived experiences, hoping you will feel empowered to reflect on the reality that:
Gender-affirming healthcare brings people, families, and communities together.
Gender-affirming healthcare promotes joy, authenticity, and happiness.
Gender-affirming healthcare is medically necessary and MUST be protected.
Transhealth won’t stop fighting for the rights of our trans and gender-diverse community members to be visible, celebrated, safe, and centered in who we are.
Happy Trans Day of Visibility to our communities who can be visible, and to our communities who are eagerly awaiting a world where visibility and security are synonymous. In solidarity – We see you, we love you, and we’re with you.
