Transhealth is excited to announce the opening of our Community Pantry in partnership with the Northampton Survival Center. In an effort to meet the needs of local trans and gender-diverse communities facing food insecurity, our Community Pantry can provide 1-2 days worth of food.

What’s available in the Transhealth Community Pantry?

As an off-site partner of the Northampton Survival Center, we will most often be stocking shelf-stable items like dry goods, canned goods and boxed meal items.

After your visit to our Community Pantry, we can help connect you with the Northampton Survival Center’s established locations for a wider selection of fresh/frozen produce, meat, dairy and seasonings. They can even accommodate some dietary needs like halal options, allergen free selections and more depending on their current inventory.

When and where is the Community Pantry available?

Access the Community Pantry during Drop In Hours (Mon, Tue, Wed or Fri) from 10A-12P or 2-4P in our Community Room located at 10 Main St. 3rd. Floor, Florence, MA 01062. Please note: Drop In Hours are not available on Thursdays or weekends.

If you would like to request assistance outside of this time, please contact our team at thcommunity@transhealth.org and we will try our best to schedule an appointment outside of our Drop In hours, if possible.

What to expect when picking up food:

Visit the Community Room, sign in, and then speak with our team. You will be asked to complete a very brief self-report survey. Our team will then review what food options are available and next steps for connecting you with additional resources.

How else do we support sustainable food access beyond a 1-2 day supply?

Our team may also help connect eligible Hampshire county residents with a source for ongoing food assistance beyond SNAP or WIC through the Northampton Survival Center. Eligible clients may sign up for weekly curbside pick-up at one of two Northampton Survival Center locations or a monthly home delivery, in addition to participating in their other programs.
